Gordon is averaging 11.0 points per game off the bench through the first five games. The absence of Victor Oladipo (face) has coach Jacque Vaughn looking for offense early on the year. While Gordon can occasionally heat up from quarter to quarter, he provides little else. In 122 minutes so far, Gordon hasn't recorded a steal or block, and his three-point stroke doesn't look like it's making a comeback, resting at a career-low 27.3 percent.

Gordon scored 22 points (7-12 FG, 2-5 3Pt, 6-7 FT) and added four assists in 26 minutes off the bench during Thursday's loss to the Wizards. Gorden led all Magic reserves in minutes and played a majority of crunch time. With his primary objective to score the ball, only consider him in the deepest of leagues if you're starving for points.

Gordon could see an increased minutes load with Victor Oladipo (face) expected to miss a month following surgery Saturday. Gordon had a productive preseason, scoring 10.1 points in 18.0 minutes per game on 45 percent shooting. Gordon finished third in scoring average behind Tobias Harris and Nikola Vucevic, but provided little else outside of points. With a successful career as a sixth man, look for Gordon to come off the bench more nights than not.

Gordon found a little bit of revenge during Monday's preseason loss against his former team, now called the Charlotte Hornets. He scored a team-high 17 points (6-10 FG, 0-1 3Pt, 5-5 FT) in 19 minutes off the bench. The rest of Gordon's line was rather bare, consisting of a singular assist. The crowd in Charlotte actually booed the former Sixth Man of the Year, With Gordon attempting to repair his tarnished reputation, expect spotty minutes for him this season combined with a bunch of shots as a reserve.

Gordon expects to bounce back after a tumultuous tenure with the Bobcats, John Denton of OrlandoMagic.com reports. "This year is to re-establish myself and who I really am as a player," Gordon went on to say. Gordon spent a significant portion of his offseason at team headquarters working on his game. Historically, he's performed better under coaches with previous guard experience in the NBA (Scott Skiles and Vinny Del Negro), so a collaboration with Jacque Vaughn might just be the perfect elixir. Through two preseason contests, Gordon has scored 15 points on 18 shots in 36 minutes.

Ben Gordon officially signed a two-year, $9 million deal with the Magic on Friday. The second year is a team option, which mitigates the risk for Orlando, but they're still taking a gamble that the 31-year-old guard will bounce back after a career-worst season in Charlotte. The Magic are deep at SG with Victor Oladipo, Evan Fournier, Doron Lamb and Willie Green all in the mix, which gives Gordon even less upside for fantasy purposes.

The Magic have agreed to sign Ben Gordon on a two-year, $9 million contract, according to Yahoo!'s Adrian Wojnarowski. Gordon just hit the lottery. The 31-year-old shot 34.3 percent with the Bobcats last year, including 27.6 percent from downtown, and he wound up appearing in just 19 games all season. Why the Magic thought that was worth $4.5 million annually is anyone's guess. The second year isn't guaranteed according to TNT's David Aldridge, but it's still an atrocious amount of money for a player who peaked in 2008-09. With Victor Oladipo locked into the SG job in Orlando, there's no reason to touch Gordon for fantasy purposes.

The Bobcats have officially waived guard Ben Gordon on Sunday, one day too late for him to sign with a playoff eligible team.

The Thunder are interested in signing Ben Gordon once he reaches a buyout agreement. The possible deal with the Thunder is expected to allow Gordon to be a free agent this summer. The Bulls, Clippers and Rockets are also interested in acquiring Gordon. OKC has been playing Derek Fisher 16.3 minutes per game, so it's going to be tough for BG to get minutes with them.

The Bulls, Clippers and Rockets reportedly have interest in signing Ben Gordon if he's bought out by the Bobcats. Gordon is resisting two-year contracts because he wants to hit free agency in July, but it sounds like he'll eventually sign with a contender for the rest of the 2013-14 season. The Bulls may drop out of the race if they sign Jimmer Fredette first, and Gordon's fantasy appeal is limited to deep leagues where a handful of 3-pointers are enough for value.
