The Nets are on the verge of acquiring Cavaliers guard Jarrett Jack in a three-team trade, with Marcus Thornton and Tyler Zeller going to the Celtics. The Nets will also acquire F Sergey Karasev from Cleveland, and Boston will pick up a first-round draft pick for helping to facilitate the deal. The Cavs' incentive is ridding themselves of Jack's remaining $12.6 million over two years, giving them the necessary salary-cap space for a max offer to LeBron James. They'll also get a second-round pick from Boston. Jack may start at shooting guard if the Nets opt to use a small lineup again next season, or he may backup both PG and SG as a primary reserve. The 30-year-old veteran is coming off a down season in Cleveland and the change of scenery should do him good.
