Gortat had 13 points (5-9 FG, 3-5 FT), 10 rebounds, a block, an assist and four turnovers in 26 minutes during Monday's preseason opener against the Bulls. After signing a five-year, $60 million contract in the offseason, the 30-year-old Gortat is locked in as the starting center for the foreseeable future. The Wizards upgraded their frontcourt depth, but Gortat still figures to play approximately the same number of minutes. He averaged 13.2 points, 9.5 boards, 1.7 assists, 1.5 blocks and 0.5 steals over 33 minutes last season, shooting 54.2 percent from the field and 68.6 percent from the line.
