Tigers released C Ronny Paulino. Paulino was expected to begin the season as the starting catcher at Triple-A Toledo, but was hit with a 100 game suspension for his second violation of the minor league drug prevention and treatment program. He'll attempt to latch on elsewhere on a minor league deal.

The Orioles have sold Ronny Paulino's contract to the Tigers, reports Roch Kubatko of MASNSports.com. No official announcement from either team yet, but Paulino is expected to report to Triple-A Toledo. The veteran backstop is useful organizational depth to have around.

Orioles signed C Ronny Paulino to a minor league contract. Paulino was released by the Mariners just before the start of the season and has finally landed another gig. He played 20 games for the Orioles last season and spent the rest of the season at Triple-A Norfolk. The 32-year-old will report to extended spring training first before presumably being assigned to Norfolk.

Ronny Paulino is not expected to report to Mariners' camp for a few more days due to visa issues in his native Dominican Republic. Paulino signed a minor league deal with the Mariners over the winter after batting .254/.266/.302 in 20 games with the Orioles last year. He's unlikely to secure a spot on the Opening Day roster, as the M's already have Kelly Shoppach in place as a backup to Jesus Montero.

Ronny Paulino and Jhonny Nunez haven't reported to Mariners' camp due to visa problems. It's not clear when either player will report to camp. Paulino, a non-roster invitee, is unlikely to make the Mariners' Opening Day roster unless there's an injury. Nunez hasn't pitched in the big leagues since 2009 and is likely ticketed for Triple-A Tacoma.
