Singleton will ride the pine for a second straight day, following a 4-for-37 start to September. The 23-year-old has struggled to adjust to major league pitching (.169 average), but it seems likely he'll open 2015 in an everyday role, after inking a long-term extension with the club in June.

Chris Carter gets the start at first base while Jose Altuve takes the designated hitter spot for Friday's contest.

With lefty Drew Pomeranz on the hill for Oakland, Singleton will head to the bench for the second time in four games, opening the door for Jesus Guzman to start at first base. Singleton is batting just .186/.296/.372 with the big club this season, and while his struggles have mostly come against right-handed pitching (.160/.280/.326), manager Bo Porter may be inclined to further limit Singleton's exposure to lefties over the remainder of the season.

The rookie first baseman has been playing everyday despite still sporting a sub-.200 batting average. While he still offers plenty of upside over the rest of the season for owners looking for some help in home runs, he's going to be a drain on batting average in roto leagues.
