X-rays taken Saturday night on Anthony Recker's bruised right hand came up negative.

Recker was hit on the hand by a foul ball in Saturday's game against the Pirates. He never had to leave the game, but he had his hand wrapped in ice in the clubhouse afterward and was taken to get the X-rays. All is well.

Anthony Recker had a big day at the plate in the second game of Sunday's doubleheader against the Diamondbacks, going 4-for-4 with a double.

The veteran backstop was also caught stealing in the ballgame. He has done a nice job filling in for the injured Travis d'Arnaud, but his run of usefulness in NL-only leagues will run out once d'Arnaud returns later this week.

Anthony Recker went 2-for-4 with his second home run of the season in Wednesday's win over the Diamondbacks.

In for Travis d'Arnaud, Recker made the most of his spot start. He took Brandon McCarthy deep for a solo home run to start the scoring, and he later added a double off the right-hander. He's got two homers and four RBI through 14 at-bats to start the year.

Anthony Recker homered off Matt Shoemaker in the top of the 13th to power the Mets past the Angels on Saturday.

Recker also had a big two-run single in the seventh that gave the Mets a 4-3 lead. It was 6-3 in the top of the ninth, when Jose Valverde gave up a game-tying three-run homer. The Mets, though, persevered and came through in the end, thanks mostly to the bottom of their lineup; Lucas Duda, Juan Lagares, Recker and Omar Quintanilla had nine of their 11 hits and all seven of their RBI from the 6th-through-9th slots.

Mets recalled C Anthony Recker from Triple-A Las Vegas.

Recker was just sent down to the minors last week, but he's back now that John Buck has been traded to the Pirates. The 29-year-old is hitting .193 (21-for-109) with five homers and 16 RBI in 38 games this season and should serve as Travis d'Arnaud's backup the rest of the way.

Mets optioned C Anthony Recker to Triple-A Las Vegas.

This means that Travis d'Arnaud will stick around even after John Buck returns from the paternity leave list. Recker is hitting .193 (21-for-109) with five homers and 16 RBI in 38 games this season and should be back in September.

Anthony Recker launched a solo homer in an extra-inning loss to the Diamondbacks on Thursday.

His solo blast off Heath Bell tied the game in the bottom of the 13th inning. The Diamondbacks took the lead in the next half-inning, but the Mets battled back in the bottom of the 14th inning, this time on a solo homer from Kirk Nieuwenhuis. The Diamondbacks eventually went on to win the game in the 15th inning. It was a wild one. Recker has shown some pop in a small sample this season, so it wouldn't be surprising to see him start to get some more playing time over the struggling John Buck.

Anthony Recker hit his second home run of the season Tuesday in the Mets' defeat of the Braves.

The two-run shot in the top of the seventh inning broke a 0-0 tie and put Zack Wheeler in line for his first major league win. Recker doesn't play much behind John Buck and will likely be sent to Triple-A Las Vegas when prospect Travis d'Arnaud is ready to contribute.

Anthony Recker will make the Mets as a backup catcher.

Recker is hitting .346 (9-for-26) with one home run this spring and ultimately got the nod over Landon Powell. He'll back up John Buck for now, but will likely be booted off the roster as soon as top prospect Travis d'Arnaud is deemed ready for the big leagues.
