Josh Tomlin went home with a no-decision, allowing four runs over seven innings in Wednesday's 14-inning loss to the Yankees.

Compared to some of his recent starts, Tomlin was on point on Wednesday. On this night, he held the Yankees to eight hits without issuing a walk while striking out five. Tomlin owns a 4.21 ERA, a 1.16 WHIP, and a 69/9 K/BB ratio. After the Indians return from the All-Star break, Tomlin will take on the Tigers on the road in his next start.

Josh Tomlin struck out 11 in a one-hit shutout of the Mariners on Saturday.

Yeah, that Josh Tomlin. It was his second career complete game, the first coming against the Royals back in 2010. It was also the first time he's ever made a start without allowing a run. He topped his previous high in strikeouts by three. Tomlin was coming off three starts in which he gave up 18 runs -- 13 earned -- and 28 hits over 15 innings. To put it in other words, we wouldn't necessarily expect a repeat performance next time out against the Royals.

Josh Tomlin pitched eight innings of three-run ball Saturday in a win over the Rangers.

We were among those disappointed when the Indians initially picked Tomlin over Trevor Bauer a month ago, but he's been very good, going 4-2 with a 3.12 ERA. He doesn't have the stuff to keep this up, though as long as he continues to keep the walks to a minimum, he can help the Indians. We wouldn't pick him up in mixed leagues, especially with a start in Fenway next on the schedule.

Josh Tomlin allowed five runs (two earned) over five innings Monday in a loss to the White Sox.

The big blow was a three-run homer from Dayan Viciedo in the third inning. Tomlin struck out a season-high eight batters and walked one in the loss. He now holds a 3.04 ERA and 22/4 K/BB ratio over 26 2/3 innings this season and should remain useful in AL-only leagues as long as he holds a rotation spot.

Josh Tomlin impressed in his 2014 debut against the Twins on Tuesday, holding the opposition to one run over 6 2/3 innings and earning the win as the Indians emerged victorious by a 4-2 margin.

The Indians moved the struggling Carlos Carrasco to the bullpen and elected to have Tomlin take his place. Tomlin had been pitching well in Triple-A, posting a 2.06 ERA with a 28/9 K/BB ratio in 35 innings. His good fortune continued on Tuesday as the right-hander allowed the one run -- a Chris Colabello solo homer -- on four hits and a walk while striking out four. Tomlin will face the Rays on the road next.
