Jansen pitched a scoreless ninth inning, allowing one hit before securing his 44th save of the year Tuesday.

Jansen continues to be one of the best closers in the game and is finishing up another stellar season. He now boasts a 2.80 ERA, 1.15 WHIP and dazzling 99:19 K:BB in 64.1 innings this year.

Jansen allowed one hit en route to his 41st save of the season against the Diamondbacks on Saturday.

That's two in a row now for Jansen, who blew a save last Wednesday against the Nationals. Jansen is still a top-tier closer, as his 41 saves trail only Atlanta's Craig Kimbrel and St. Louis's Trevor Rosenthal in the National League.

Jansen grabbed his 40th save of the season on Friday facing the Diamondbacks as he pitched a perfect ninth inning.

It only took Jansen (3.14 ERA) seven pitches to end the game, which was a very nice follow-up to his disastrous outing on Wednesday where he gave up three earned runs on four hits in a blown save against the Nationals. Even with the hiccup on Wednesday, Jansen remains one of the better closers in the game.

Jansen gave up three runs on four hits in a blown save against the Nationals on Wednesday.

The blown save was Jansen's fifth of the season, and the outing Wednesday marked only the second time since July 30 that he's allowed a run. Jansen should remain the Dodgers' ninth inning option throughout September and in the playoffs, as he's 39-for-44 in save opportunities this season.

Jansen pitched a perfect ninth inning, while striking out the side to secure his 39th save of the year Tuesday against the Nationals.

Jansen has allowed just one run in his last 10 appearances and is locked in a groove at the moment. With a 2.77 ERA and 90:15 K:BB ratio in 55.1 innings pitched, Jansen is as good as it gets at closer.

Jansen struck out two Diamondbacks in a perfect ninth inning for his 38th save of the season Wednesday.

Jansen has been lights out for over two months now, allowing only two runs since June 20. The right-hander is following up a stellar July (0.96 ERA) with an equally good August, sporting a 0.87 ERA and averaging almost two strikeouts per inning.

Jansen had a shaky outing Tuesday against the Padres, allowing one run on two hits and a walk in one inning pitched, but still came away with his 35th save of the year.

The run Tuesday was Jansen's first allowed since July 30. With a 2.98 ERA, 1.17 WHIP and a staggering 81 strikeouts in 51.1 innings pitched, Jansen is as reliable as they come at closer.

Jansen picked up an adventurous 34th save Thursday in Atlanta, throwing 1.1 innings and allowing three hits while striking out four.

An unusual breakdown, certainly -- four strikeouts and three hits among seven batters. Jansen had to throw 31 pitches to clean up Brian Wilson's mess and then his own, so he probably won't be available Friday.

Jansen pitched a perfect ninth inning in Sunday's win over Milwaukee.

Jansen, who threw nine of his 11 pitches for strikes, struck out two to help secure the victory for the Dodgers. The closer has followed up shaky months of May (4.66 ERA) and June (4.22 ERA) to dominate in July (0.96 ERA) and early on in August. He's yet to allow a run and has struck out seven (with zero free passes) in four appearances this month.

Jensen allowed a hit and struck out two en route to his 32nd save of the season Wednesday against the Angels.

Jensen's 32 saves ties him for third in the bigs with Greg Holland of the Royals and the Braves' Craig Kimbrel. The big right-hander's peripheral numbers suggest his 3.08 ERA has been inflated due to a little bad luck, as witnessed by a .356 BABIP and 1.88 xFIP.
