MLB.com's Mark Bowman reports that Tyler Pastornicky's left knee injury is "starting to sound like more than just a day-to-day deal." Pastornicky underwent an MRI Thursday, and although the results are not yet known, it sounds like the news won't be good. The Braves are getting thin on second base options, as Dan Uggla (eye surgery) is already on the DL.

Tyler Pastornicky will get an MRI on his knee Thursday. Pastornicky was lifted from Wednesday's game against the Phillies with what has been labeled a left knee sprain. He suffered the injury on a collision with teammate Jason Heyward. "It locked up pretty good to where I couldn't really move on it," Pastornicky said. "I tried to tough it out, I finished out the inning, but coming off the field, it just started locking up. It was pretty much time to come out then."

Tyler Pastornicky left Thursday's game against the Phillies with a sprained left knee. Pastornicky collided with right fielder Jason Heyward on a play. He initially stayed in the game, but the Braves eventually thought better of it. He'll be re-evaluated Thursday before it's determined how long he might be out.

Braves recalled INF Tyler Pastornicky from Triple-A Gwinnett. He'll take the place of Dan Uggla (eye surgery) on the active roster and will make the start at second base Tuesday night. The 23-year-old has some speed and has played well between the majors and minors this season, so he may have some short-term relevancy in NL-only fantasy leagues.

Braves recalled INF Tyler Pastornicky from Triple-A Gwinnett. Pastornicky, 23, batted .243/.287/.325 with two homers and a .613 OPS in 188 plate appearances in his first taste of the majors last season. He's expected to function as a utility player, so it's unlikely he'll be fantasy relevant.

ESPN's Jim Bowden reports that the Blue Jays have inquired about the Braves' Tyler Pastornicky. The Blue Jays are looking for middle infield depth following the Jose Reyes injury. Pastornicky was originally drafted by Toronto but was dealt to Atlanta in the Yunel Escobar trade. The Jays will use Maicer Izturis as their primary shortstop for now.

Braves optioned INF Tyler Pastornicky to Triple-A Gwinnett. This is quite a contrast to last year, when Pastornicky opened the season as the Braves' starting shortstop. While Andrelton Simmons has passed him on the depth chart, the 23-year-old could still end up being a useful bench player down the road.
