Tommy Hanson held the Athletics to two runs over six innings but lost a win after the Angels' bullpen allowed five runs over the eighth and ninth innings. Hanson struck out six and gave up just five hits and one walk. Though his 14/7 K/BB ratio over 23 innings leaves a lot to be desired, Hanson has now posted a quality start in three of four tries this season. He'll take a 3.91 ERA and 1.39 WHIP into a start against the Orioles this weekend.

Angels placed RHP Tommy Hanson on the bereavement list. Hanson had been scheduled to start Wednesday, but he won't get the ball then since he has to spend at least three days on the bereavement list. The Angels could push him back to Thursday, though it's unclear at the moment what their plans are. Jerome Williams is an option to make a spot start Wednesday.

Tommy Hanson spun six scoreless frames Friday in an 8-1 win over the Tigers. It was Hanson's first scoreless outing in 43 starts dating back to June 7, 2011. While it was an encouraging outing on the surface, he threw just 57 out of 102 pitches for strikes while issuing four walks and registering just two strikeouts. We'll need to see more before trusting him in shallow mixed leagues. He'll try to keep it going next Wednesday against the Rangers.

Tommy Hanson surrendered five runs in five innings Friday in a loss to the Astros. Hanson's stuff isn't what it was, and he seems like a fourth starter at best for a major league team right now. AL-only leaguers can leave him active since he'll get a favorable start in Minnesota next week.

Tommy Hanson allowed three earned runs over six innings Saturday in a win over the Angels. Considering how bad he looked this spring and the injury concerns that he carries, Hanson did pretty well in his 2013 regular season debut. He did not walk a batter and struck out four. The 26-year-old right-hander is safe to start next week against the light-hitting Astros.

Tommy Hanson (triceps) struck out nine while allowing three runs over six innings in a minor league game Monday. Hanson threw 88 pitches in the outing. The right-hander had to leave his last Cactus League start with tightness in his triceps muscle, but he's back on track to start the season on time. However, with the velocity and performance issues he had last season, he makes for a risky fantasy choice.

Tommy Hanson (triceps) is scheduled to pitch in a Triple-A game on Monday night in Angels camp. Hanson was originally scheduled to throw in a Cactus League game, but he needs to get his pitch count up so he will face some lesser competition. The right-hander was removed from his most recent Cactus League start with tightness in his triceps muscle. He's a risky fantasy selection this season despite his immense talent.

Tommy Hanson (triceps) played catch Thursday and is expected to make his next scheduled start on Monday. Hanson was pulled from Wednesday's start after three innings because of tightness in his right triceps muscle, but the Angels were just playing things safe. He remains on track for the start of the regular season.
