Tim Hudson gave up three runs on six hits over seven innings Tuesday in a loss to the Pirates. Hudson struck out two, walked one, and yielded two homers which accounted for all the runs charged to him. Indeed, he pitched pretty well outside Josh Harrison's solo homer in the first and Travis Snider's two-run shot in the following frame. Over his first seven home starts this season, the right-hander went 5-0 with a 2.16 ERA, but he's now lost four straight at AT&T Park. Those numbers are systemic of his overall struggles. Hudson started the year 7-2 with a 1.81 ERA in 13 starts, but entered 1-5 with a 4.40 ERA in his past seven. Hudson toes the rubber against the Mets in New York next week.

Tim Hudson lost despite giving up just a pair of unearned runs over six innings Thursday against the Phillies. Hudson certainly hasn't pitched as well the last month and a half as he did early on, but he also hasn't had much luck; he's had four outings since June 29 in which he's allowed one or two runs and he's gone 1-2 in those games. The Phillies' runs today were aided by a passed ball in the first and a Michael Morse error in the fifth.

Tim Hudson held the Marlins to one run in 7 1/3 innings Saturday for his eighth win of the season. Hudson gave up an RBI single to Casey McGehee in the bottom of the first inning and then went into cruise control, pitching all the way into the eighth. The veteran right-hander will carry a 2.78 ERA and 1.10 WHIP into his next start on the road against the Phillies.

Tim Hudson has been added to the National League All-Star team. He's replacing teammate Madison Bumgarner, who is starting on Sunday. Hudson is a worthy addition, having posted a 2.87 ERA and 1.10 WHIP over 18 starts during the first half. It will be his fourth All-Star appearance.

Tim Hudson was tagged for six runs in 5 1/3 innings by the A's on Thursday. Hudson picked the Giants over his original team as a free agent over the winter, causing the A's to sign Scott Kazmir instead. All parties are probably happy with the way things worked out. Hudson, while struggling some of late, has gone 7-6 with a 2.87 ERA in San Francisco.

Tim Hudson hurled six innings of one-run ball Saturday in a no-decision against the Padres. Hudson was fantastic, yielding three hits and zero walks while striking out four San Diego hitters. But the Giants didn't win the game until the 10th. Hudson will carry a 2.53 ERA and 1.05 WHIP into his next scheduled start at home against the team that drafted him in 1997 -- the A's.

Tim Hudson pitched well in Sunday's loss to the Reds, allowing just two runs on five hits over eight strong innings. The veteran right-hander racked up six strikeouts on the afternoon while walking only two. He has been a tremendous addition to the Giants rotation this season, posting a 2.59 ERA, 1.08 WHIP and 70/16 K/BB ratio over 107 2/3 innings. He'll take on the Padres in San Diego next on Saturday.

Tim Hudson was rocked for six runs -- four earned -- on nine hits over 5 2/3 innings in a loss versus the Padres on Tuesday. Hudson punched out four and walked two. He was coming off his worst start as a Giant, allowing seven earned runs in four-plus innings Wednesday in a loss to the White Sox. The veteran right-hander entered that outing with a 1.81 ERA, and he exits tonight with a 2.62 earned run average. After falling to 7-4, Hudson looks to get back on track when he hosts Cincinnati on Sunday.

Tim Hudson was shelled for seven earned runs in 4 2/3 innings Wednesday in a loss to the White Sox. It was the worst outing of the season for Hudson, who entered Wednesday's start with a shiny 1.81 ERA and watched that mark climb to 2.39. Chicago tagged him for 12 hits -- including two home runs. Hudson should bounce back in his next start at home against the Padres.
