Reds designated outfielder Roger Bernadina for assignment. Bernadina probably would have proven more valuable than Skip Schumaker given the chance, but the Reds weren't about to give either much playing time unless a starting outfielder got hurt. Bernadina ended up hitting .143/.294/.179 with two steals in 28 at-bats. The White Sox might want to pick him up with Adam Eaton out.

Reds purchased the contract of OF Roger Bernadina from Triple-A Louisville. Bernadina's inclusion on the roster was a cinch after Skip Schumaker's (shoulder) injury. Of course, he certainly earned it on his own by batting .413/.518/.739 with three homers in Cactus League play. He'll back up at all three outfield spots.

Roger Bernadina went 2-for-5 with a three-run homer against the Cubs on Saturday. Starting in right field, Bernadina hit his third homer of the spring against Edwin Jackson in Saturday's first inning. He also singled in a run later in the game, and the outfielder is batting .417 in Cactus League play. With Skip Schumaker out a month due to a dislocated shoulder, Berandina is looking like a good bet to be on the Reds' roster on Opening Day.

Reds signed OF Roger Bernadina to a minor league contract with an invitation to spring training. Bernadina looks the part with plenty of speed and some pop, but he's failed to hit consistently and is prone to lapses defensively. The 29-year-old batted just .181/.250/.295 over 112 games last season for the Nationals and Phillies. That said, he's a solid depth addition.

Roger Bernadina has elected free agency. The 29-year-old outfielder possesses a nice blend of power and speed, but hasn't been able to hit consistently enough to secure a regular job in the big leagues. He'll look to latch on elsewhere as a reserve outfielder.

Phillies sent OF Roger Bernadina outright to Triple-A Lehigh Valley. Bernadina is now off the Phillies' 40-man roster. The muscular 29-year-old outfielder is a .239/.307/.359 career hitter in 1,400 major league plate appearances.

Roger Bernadina smacked a two-run homer in Thursday's loss to the Mets. Bernadina didn't start, but stayed in the game after coming in as part of a double-switch in the fifth inning. The 29-year-old now has four extra-base hits (two homers) and five RBI in eight games since joining the Phillies last week. He may not play everyday, but there's enough power and speed here for him to be relevant in NL-only fantasy leagues.

Phillies signed OF Roger Bernadina. Bernadina was released by the Nationals earlier this week, but it didn't take him long to find a new home. The 29-year-old is batting just .178 with two homers and a .517 OPS in 85 games this year, but he could be a useful part-time player for Philadelphia.

According to Jerry Crasnick of ESPN.com, Roger Bernadina expects to sign with a new team shortly. Bernadina was released by the Nationals earlier this week after the club acquired David DeJesus. The 29-year-old is batting just .178/.247/.270 in 85 games this season, but he could be a useful piece somewhere. The Phillies are among the teams who reportedly have interest.
