The veteran righty simply didn't have it Saturday, throwing a whopping 65 pitches over his two frames and getting touched up for four runs in the second inning alone on a Dustin Pedroia ground-rule double and a three-run shot by Hanley Ramirez. The outing was Nolasco's shortest of the season, and the six earned runs equaled his second-highest total in that category in 2016. The 33-year-old has given up 13 runs (12 earned) over three of his last four starts, and has surrendered at least one homer in six of his last seven trips to the mound. He'll look to bounce back when he takes on the White Sox next Friday.

Nolasco (4-8) was a tough-luck loser on Monday, allowing just one run over six innings against the Tigers. He allowed three hits, walked three and failed to strike out a batter.

EDGE Analysis

Nolasco's three walks and zero strikeouts aren't promising, but his one earned run was the fewest he'd allowed in a start since April 21. The veteran righty has not had a particularly strong season, posting a 5.02 ERA and 1.35 WHIP. His next start will come Saturday in Boston.

The veteran righty was largely derailed by the long ball once again, giving up bombs to Brett Lawrie, Tyler Saladino and Todd Frazier. Nolasco managed to notch first-pitch strikes on 19 of the 27 batters he faced but was otherwise mostly ineffective. After a late May-mid-June stretch that saw him post quality starts in four of five trips to the mound, the 33-year-old's performance has started to deteriorate once again. Over his last two starts, Nolasco has given up 19 hits and 11 earned runs, including four homers, over 12.1 innings. He'll look to rebound against Oakland next Monday.

Nolasco (3-5) lasted 6.2 innings in Thursday's loss to the Phillies. He allowed four runs, 10 hits and four walks while striking out one.

EDGE Analysis

The veteran drew a perfect opportunity to become the Twins first pitcher with four wins, but struggled to command his pitches. Nolasco's four walks were a season high, and his one strikeout was a season low. He was only able to garner seven swinging strikes while missing the zone on 41 percent of his pitches. He'll look to rebound Tuesday when he toes the rubber against the White Sox.

Nolasco induced a strong 11 swinging strikes in 106 pitches and induced eight groundball outs in the victory. He now has three quality starts in his last four outings, but Nolasco is still proving hittable. He has allowed 87 hits in just 77.1 innings and has allowed more hits than innings pitched in six of his 13 starts now. Nolasco has a much higher ERA (4.57) than FIP (3.80) for his career for this very reason. No matter how sparkly his K/BB gets (now up to 4.9), it's hard to believe in him getting his ERA much lower than its current mark of 5.12.

Nolasco was rocked for five runs on 11 hits and a walk in 5.2 innings Wednesday against the Marlins, but was able to avoid taking the loss.

EDGE Analysis

The 33-year-old righty spent the first seven-plus seasons of his career with the Marlins, mostly putting up the same mediocre-to-poor stat lines we've seen from him since he joined the Twins in 2014. Although Nolasco does own a surprisingly shiny 63:13 K:BB in 71.1 innings, he's one of the most hittable starters in baseball and rarely sustains any sort of successful stretch. Indeed, he'd turned in consecutive two-earned-run outings prior to this outing, only to set a new season high in hits allowed. If you're stuck rolling him out in fantasy, you're in a bad place.

Nolasco (2-4) allowed just three runs (two earned) on six hits during 7.2 innings of work, but was tagged with the loss Friday against Tampa Bay. He struck out seven.

EDGE Analysis

Nolasco tossed a quality start for the second straight game, but unlike the last one it wasn't enough to lead the Twins to a win. Nolasco struggled badly during as he pitched to the tune of a 7.12 ERA, but the past two outings have been a step in the right direction. His next start will come at home Thursday against the Marlins.
