Goldschmidt will occupy the No. 3 spot in the order in the D-backs' spring opener against Arizona State on Tuesday, Nick Piecoro of the Arizona Republic reports.

With no restrictions this spring, it should come as little surprise that the Diamondbacks are rolling with Goldschmidt in his typical place in the order. He remains a top-five selection in most leagues this spring, offering the ability to contribute in all five hitting categories and with what appears to be a slightly improved lineup around him in Arizona.

Goldschmidt said that he is fully recovered from the broken hand that cost him the final two months of last season,'s Steve Gilbert reports.

Goldschmidt had resumed taking batting practice in the final week of September and may have received clearance to return to action had the season extended a couple weeks longer. Goldschmidt was well on his way to another monster season in 2014 before suffering the untimely injury, as he posted a .300 average to go along with 19 homers and 69 RBI over 109 games.
