Corbin (0-2) took the loss Wednesday as the Nationals were downed 7-1 by the Giants, surrendering seven runs on 11 hits over 5.2 innings. He struck out two without walking a batter.
EDGE Analysis
The veteran lefty was able to keep the ball in the park, but San Francisco was able to string together multiple hits and score multiple runs in three separate innings against Corbin, chasing him from the game after 85 pitches (58 strikes). After posting an ERA above 5.00 in each of the last three seasons, Corbin seems headed for another awful campaign, stumbling to an 8.44 ERA, 1.94 WHIP and 10:4 K:BB through three starts and 16 innings. There's little reason for optimism that he'll turn things around in his next start, likely to come on the road early next week against the Dodgers.

Corbin (0-1) took the loss Friday, allowing four runs on nine hits and three walks over six innings against Philadelphia. He struck out six.
EDGE Analysis
Corbin's rough start to the season continued Friday after allowing four runs over 4.1 innings in his first start. He once again yielded four runs and sports a 6.97 ERA on the season. The 34-year-old lefty has been unable to keep opponents off the basepaths as his WHIP stands at 1.94 over his first 10.1 innings. Corbin is tentatively scheduled to pitch on the road against the Giants in his next start.

Corbin allowed four runs on seven hits -- including two home runs -- over 4.1 innings in a no-decision against the Reds on Saturday. He struck out two and issued one walk.
EDGE Analysis
Corbin in Great American Ball Park went about as expected. He allowed a solo home run to Jeimer Candelario in the fourth inning and a two-run shot to Luke Maile in the fifth, after posting the fifth-worst HR/9 among qualified starters last season. Now 34 and in the final year of his contract, Corbin should be a hard pass for any fantasy manager that cares about preserving their ratios.

Corbin gave up three runs on six hits and two walks over 3.2 innings in Monday's Grapefruit League game against the Cardinals. He struck out six.
EDGE Analysis
The Ks were a good sign for Corbin despite the final line, as was the fact that Monday's free passes were his first of the spring. His 16:2 K:BB in 12.1 innings does come with a 5.11 ERA, but the former metric is generally a better sign of how a pitcher is performing in camp. Corbin got stretched out to 74 pitches (45 strikes) and appears just about ready for Opening Day, but given that he hasn't posted an ERA below 5.20 over a full season since 2019, the 34-year-old southpaw is little more than an endgame dart even in deep fantasy formats.

Corbin gave up three hits over three scoreless innings while striking out four in Thursday's Grapefruit League game against the Cardinals.
EDGE Analysis
Facing most of the Cards' Opening Day lineup, Corbin breezed through 41 pitches (32 strikes) and looked much sharper than he had in his first outing of the spring. The veteran southpaw also mixed in a new cutter, per Mark Zuckerman of MASN Sports, throwing seven of them and getting swings and misses on three -- including strike three to Nolan Arenado in the first inning. Corbin's been primarily a fastball-slider pitcher throughout his career, so adding a reliable third pitch could boost a strikeout rate that sagged to 15.7 percent in 2023 -- the second-worst mark in MLB among pitchers who threw at least 150 innings, ahead of only Kyle Freeland's 13.9 percent. Even if the cutter does prove to be an effective weapon for Corbin, however, there's still little fantasy appeal in a pitcher who's posted a combined 5.75 ERA and 1.54 WHIP over the last three seasons.

Corbin is scheduled to make his second Grapefruit League start Thursday versus the Cardinals, Mark Zuckerman of MASNSports.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Corbin struck out four of the nine batters he faced Saturday in the Nationals' spring opener against the Astros, but he was touched up for two earned runs on three hits (two singles, one triple) and also conceded a stolen base. At this stage of Corbin's career, spring training is more about building innings than turning in quality results, but even if the 34-year-old lefty is lights out in his subsequent Grapefruit League outings, fantasy players should have some degree of skepticism about him carrying over any success into the regular season. Over each of his last three campaigns in Washington, Corbin has taken at least 31 starts in every season, but he hasn't turned in an ERA better than 5.20 or a WHIP lower than 1.47 and has seen his strikeout percentage decline in each successive year.

Corbin (10-15) took the loss Wednesday, allowing four runs on six hits and four walks over 4.2 innings against the Orioles while striking out two.
EDGE Analysis
Corbin was victimized by a two-run shot off the bat of Adley Rutschman in the bottom of the third, after the lefty walked Austin Hays to open the frame. The 34-year-old veteran's troubles would continue in the fifth inning, where he was once again charged with two runs, marking his second consecutive start with at least four runs allowed. Corbin has failed to make it through five innings in each of his last two outings and in three of his last five. He's also given up six home runs this month and has now lost four of his last five starts.

Corbin (10-14) took the loss Friday, allowing five runs on five hits and one walk over 4.1 innings against Atlanta. He struck out one.
EDGE Analysis
Corbin conceded Ronald Acuna's historic 40th home run of the year to lead off the game and never recovered. It was a miserable night for the 34-year-old starting pitcher as he also matched a season-low for strikeouts with just one. Corbin's disastrous season has resulted in a 5.13 ERA, 1.47 WHIP and 122:53 K:BB over 175.1 innings. He looks to close out the year on a better note in his last start, currently slated to be against Atlanta.

Corbin did not factor into the decision Sunday, allowing one run on four hits and two walks over six innings against Milwaukee. He struck out two.
EDGE Analysis
Corbin held the Brewers scoreless through five to maintain a 1-0 lead, but Mark Canha led off the sixth with a leadoff single and a steal of second. A sacrifice bunt and sacrifice fly followed as the Brewers manufactured their way to tie the game against Corbin, costing him a chance at earning his 11th win. After having allowed 14 runs over nine innings in his previous two starts, Corbin tossed his second consecutive quality start to improve his ERA to an even 5.00 over 171 innings. His next start is scheduled to take place over the weekend at home against Atlanta.

Corbin (10-13) earned the win Monday, allowing two runs on five hits and one walk over 6.2 innings against the Pirates. He struck out eight.
EDGE Analysis
After allowing14 runs in his previous two starts, Corbin bounced back with a quality start in earning his 10th win. He was staked to a 6-1 lead and recorded two outs in the seventh but was bounced after a Ji Hwan Bae double plated a second run for the Pirates. 6.2 innings represented Corbin's longest outing since July 9 and the eight strikeouts were his second highest total of the season. Corbin will look to follow up on this strong performance in his next start, scheduled to occur this weekend in Milwaukee.
