Kemp went 2-for-4 with a pair of homers and four RBI in Friday's 5-3 victory over the Nationals.

EDGE Analysis

The veteran slugger continues to rip the cover off the ball, now having blasted six homers over the last six games. Kemp has gone deep in five of those contests, and currently has a seven-game hitting streak.

After sitting out the afternoon game of Wednesday's doubleheader, Kemp returned to the lineup for the night game and went 1-for-4 with a solo homer against the Cardinals.

EDGE Analysis

That's four consecutive games with a homer for Kemp, who's now reached 20 long balls for the seventh time in his career. The way things are going, he should have no problem hitting 30 for the first time since his massive 2011 season, but Kemp's average is still lingering at .255 thanks to a subpar .278 BABIP. A better second-half hitter throughout his career, Kemp can reasonably be expected to improve his average down the stretch, which should help him rack up even more counting stats. It'd be nice to see him swipe some bases, though -- a former 40-steal man, he hasn't even attempted one this year.

Kemp is out of the lineup in game one of Wednesday's doubleheader against the Cardinals.

EDGE Analysis

It doesn't seem like this is anything other than a normal day off to stay fresh. There is a good chance he could play in the night game of the doubleheader after resting in the afternoon.

Kemp is out of the lineup Sunday against the Reds, Jeff Sanders of the San Diego Union-Tribune reports.

EDGE Analysis

Manager Andy Green is just giving Kemp a needed break from the grind after the 31-year-old started each of the Padres' last 33 games. With Kemp hitting the bench, utility man Alexi Amarista will pick up a start in right field and bat eighth in the order.

Kemp went 4-for-6, scored a run and knocked in two in a win Tuesday over the Orioles.

EDGE Analysis

Kemp's .281 OBP and 9:68 BB:K are vexing, but it's hard to argue with what Kemp has been able to do when he has made contact this season. With two more doubles Tuesday, he now has 32 extra-base hits in just 302 plate appearances, 15 of which have been home runs. In leagues that use average instead of OBP, Kemp has been more valuable than any season since his 2011 MVP runner up campaign when he hit 39 home runs and knocked in 126 runs.

Kemp homered, a solo shot, in a 2-for-4 game in Monday's loss to Miami.

EDGE Analysis

Kemp's power continues to thrive despite the fact that he has drawn just four walks all year long. Fantasy owners will take it, as Kemp is on pace for 37 home runs. He has just one season with more than 30 home runs for his entire 11-year career -- his All-Star and Silver Slugger campaign back in 2011.

Kemp went 2-for-4 with a double and run scored in Saturday's 5-3 loss to the Rockies.

EDGE Analysis

The veteran slugger now has five multi-hit efforts in 10 June contests. It was a nice bounce-back game for Kemp following a nightmarish 0-for-5, four strikeout performance on Friday. The 31-year-old is on pace to surpass the 23 homers he generated in his first Padres season in 2015, but his forgettable .244 OBP is largely a product of the paltry four walks he's drawn to date in 2016.

Kemp went 1-for-4 with a three-run homer Friday against Colorado.

EDGE Analysis

Kemp's power has always played well at Coors Field, and Friday wasn't the exception with a homer that set the tone of the game. Kemp is heating up at the plate of late, hitting safely in five straight games and going 14-for-45 (.311) over the past 10 contests.

Kemp went 1-for-4 with a home run and two strikeouts Tuesday against Seattle.

EDGE Analysis

Kemp hit his team-leading 13th homer with a solo shot during the sixth inning, but other than that he was pretty quiet at the plate. The 31-year-old outfielder has homered three times over the past five games, and his power is the main reason why he still carries fantasy value, as his poor plate discipline (four walks all season) and his contact issues (50 strikeouts in 210 at-bats) are quite a problem.
