Mark Rogers (shoulder) is set to begin a minor league rehab assignment Tuesday at Double-A Huntsville. Rogers opened the 2013 regular season on the 15-day disabled list because of right shoulder instability. The 27-year-old should be ready by the end of this month.

Mark Rogers (shoulder) is making the transition to the bullpen. Rogers struggled this spring and began the season on the disabled list due to what was termed as right shoulder instability. He topped out at 92 mph on his fastball during a recent start in extended spring training and the Brewers are hopeful that his velocity will bounce back in shorter bursts. The 27-year-old is out of options, so he will eventually have to be added to the major league roster or exposed to waivers.

Brewers placed RHP Mark Rogers on the 15-day disabled list, retroactive to March 25, with right shoulder instability. Rogers has a 7.00 ERA in nine innings this spring and has showed diminished velocity, so he'll work on building his arm strength for the time being. The 27-year-old right-hander is out of options, so something will have to give eventually.

Mark Rogers is expected to open the 2013 regular season on the 15-day disabled list. Rogers has displayed diminished velocity this spring and the Brewers want him to work on building arm strength either at extended spring training or in the minor leagues. Rogers has a 7.00 ERA in nine innings this spring.

Mark Rogers threw live batting practice Tuesday and hopes to return to game action soon. Rogers has an awful 7.51 ERA and 1/10 K/BB ratio over six innings of work this spring and has also shown diminished velocity, so the Brewers have been trying to get him back on track. The 27-year-old right-hander is out of options, so the Brewers could be faced with a tough decision soon.

Mark Rogers was rocked for six runs -- three earned -- on three hits and four walks over 1 1/3 innings against the Rangers Tuesday. Rogers now has a 3.00 WHIP and 1/10 K/BB ratio over six innings this spring, which is probably bad enough that we can go ahead and rule him out for a rotation spot. The righty is out of options, though, so he'll probably stick around as a long reliever.

Mark Rogers walked three and allowed two unearned runs over three innings in Thursday's win over the Diamondbacks. He also gave up three hits -- including a home run -- and didn't strike anyone out. Rogers has now walked six over his first 4 2/3 frames this spring. The right-hander pitched well down the stretch for the Brews last year and is competing for a spot in the rotation. More likely, though, he'll end up in long relief.

Mark Rogers allowed two runs over 1 2/3 innings in Sunday's split-squad loss to the Indians. With the exception of Carlos Santana, Rogers was going against a lineup of mostly backups and fringe prospects, so it's not a good sign for his chances of winning a spot in the Opening Day rotation. More than likely, Rogers will open the season in a long relief role with the Brewers.

Mark Rogers won his third consecutive outing on Friday, limiting the Brewers to one run on five hits over 5 1/3 innings. He fanned five and walked two on the night. The Brewers announced after the game that Rogers would be shut down for the season, certainly ending his 2012 on a high note. The oft-injured 26-year-old finishes his season with a 3-1 record, 3.92 ERA and 41/14 K/BB ratio over 39 innings. He has certainly made a favorable impression with Brewers' management, and should have a strong chance to make the Brewers rotation out of spring training next season.

Brewers manager Ron Roenicke said Monday that Mark Rogers is getting close to his innings limit. Mike Fiers is also nearing his innings limit, but Roenicke indicated that Rogers is closer to a shutdown and that the possibility will be discussed after Monday's start. The 26-year-old right-hander has logged 119 innings between the majors and minors this season after throwing just 44 1/3 innings last year while dealing with carpel tunnel syndrome on both wrists.
