Profar traveled with San Diego on the team's trip to Korea despite dealing with a sprained right ankle, per MLB.com.
EDGE Analysis
Profar was injured in the Padres' final Cactus League game Wednesday when he pulled up while rounding first base. Manager Mike Shildt indicated after the contest that Profar suffered a mild right ankle sprain but that doctors believed he would be "just fine." Shildt also said that the veteran outfielder would make the trip to Korea for San Diego's season-opening two game set versus the Dodgers, though it remains to be seen if he'll be ready to play by the first contest Wednesday. Profar is slated to open the campaign as the Padres' starting left fielder, but if he's unable to play right away, Jose Azocar could step in as his replacement.

Profar was removed from Wednesday's Cactus League against the Athletics with an apparent leg injury, AJ Cassavell of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Profar suffered the injury while rounding first base, and he subsequently limped off the field. It's poor timing for the Padres, which are finishing up their Cactus League slate ahead of the season-opening series in South Korea versus the Dodgers next week. It remains to be seen if the 31-year-old's availability for that series will be affected by the injury.

Profar agreed to a one-year, $1 million contract with the Padres on Monday, Robert Murray of FanSided.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
He can earn an additional $1.5 million in incentives based on plate appearances. Profar had a nice finish with the Padres last season (.776 OPS in 14 games) after a disastrous run with the Rockies (.680 OPS in 111 games) and is back for another stint in San Diego. As things stand currently, Profar probably vaults to the top of the Padres' depth chart in left field, although it wouldn't be a surprise to see the club bring in additional help.

Profar went 2-for-5 with a double, four RBI and one run scored in Saturday's 6-1 win over the White Sox.
EDGE Analysis
The 30-year-old got the best of Mike Clevinger on Saturday, lacing a bases-clearing double in the first frame and adding an RBI single in the second, which chased the White Sox starter from the game. In 13 games since Profar rejoined the Padres on Sept. 8, he has gone 11-for-39 (.282) with two doubles, one home run, six RBI and four runs. Between Colorado and San Diego, the veteran outfielder has posted a season-long slash line of .240/.320/.368 with 27 doubles, nine home runs, 45 RBI, 55 runs and one steal through 124 games (515 plate appearances).

Profar will sit for the third straight game Saturday against St. Louis, Jeff Sanders of The San Diego Union-Tribune reports.
EDGE Analysis
Profar started five straight games after joining the roster in early September, but he's since started just two of the last eight games. He went 3-for-4 in each of his first two games back with San Diego but is just 2-for-18 since then.

Profar is not in the lineup Friday against the Cardinals.
EDGE Analysis
Profar got off to a hot start upon returning to the Padres earlier this month, but he's gone 0-for-11 with two walks and two strikeouts over his last three games. Ji-Man Choi will cover first base Friday as Juan Soto, Trent Grisham and Fernando Tatis start across the outfield.

Profar went 3-for-4 with a two-run home run and a double Saturday in a loss to the Astros.
EDGE Analysis
Profar signed a minor-league contract to return to the Padres organization Sept. 1 and got called up to the big club Friday. He made the start at first base one day later and gave the Padres their first lead in the fourth inning with his two-run blast to right field. He ended the contest as one of two San Diego players with multiple hits, though his contributions weren't enough to carry the team to a win. Profar could be in the mix to get starts at first base down the stretch -- Garrett Cooper and Matt Carpenter have been splitting time there of late with Jake Cronenworth (wrist) and Ji-Man Choi (ankle) potentially out for the season.

The Padres selected Profar's contract from Triple-A El Paso on Friday.
EDGE Analysis
Profar inked a minor-league deal with San Diego a week ago after being released by the Rockies and is now back in the big leagues with his former club. The utility player might find playing time harder to come by during this stint than he did the first time around with the Pads, but he'll offer the team another outfield option.

Profar is expected to have his contract selected by the Padres on Friday, Kevin Acee of the San Diego Union-Tribune reports.
EDGE Analysis
Profar joined the Padres on a minor-league deal Sept. 1 after being let go by the Rockies. It's unclear what type of role he may have down the stretch, particularly because he struggled to a .236/.316/.364 line across 471 plate appearances in Colorado.

Profar signed a minor-league contract with the Padres on Friday, Jeff Sanders of the San Diego Union-Tribune reports.
EDGE Analysis
Profar left the Padres after declining a player option this past offseason but was cut loose by the Rockies last month after hitting just .236/.316/.364. He batted .244/.333/.375 with 26 homers in 345 games with the Padres between 2020-21. Profar will report to Triple-A El Paso for now but has a good shot to be added to the big-league club soon especially now that rosters are expanded.
