Lagares will start in center field and bat seventh Thursday against the Giants, Matt Ehalt of Yahoo Sports reports.
EDGE Analysis
Lagares will check into the lineup for the first time in five games with primary center fielder Carlos Gomez receiving a breather for the day game. Given that Gomez is hitting just .182 while striking out in 32.3 percent of his plate appearances since being called up to the Mets on May 17, it's possible that Lagares soon finds himself in the lineup on a more consistent basis.

Lagares is not in the lineup for Friday's game against the Tigers.
EDGE Analysis
Lagares started the last seven games in center field for the Mets amid all their outfield injures, but went 3-for-18 with three runs scored, five RBI and a double. Carlos Gomez will start in center field Friday while Rajai Davis receives the starting nod in right.

Lagares went 1-for-4 with a double, a run scored and three RBI in Wednesday's win over the Nationals.
EDGE Analysis
He played hero in this one, erasing a 1-0 deficit in the eighth inning with a bases-loaded double off Nats closer Sean Doolittle, then came around to score on Rajai Davis' homer later in the frame. Lagares is slashing just .207/.289/.310 through 98 plate appearances, but the 30-year-old defensive whiz is in line for a playing time boost with the entire Mets starting outfield dealing with injuries at the moment.

Lagares was added to the lineup for Tuesday's game against Washington.
EDGE Analysis
Lagares had been scheduled for a day off but will remain in the lineup due to Brandon Nimmo's stiff neck. He'll bat eighth and play center field.

Lagares is not in the lineup Tuesday against the Nationals.
EDGE Analysis
Lagares had started four games in a row, though it's hard to say he deserves a regular role given his .207/.286/.305 season slash line. Brandon Nimmo gets the call in center field.

Lagares will start in center field and bat seventh Sunday against the Marlins.
EDGE Analysis
Lagares will stick in the starting nine for the fourth time in five games, with the absence of Michael Conforto (concussion) aiding his entry into the lineup. With a .221 average, two home runs and two steals across 86 plate appearances this season, Lagares shouldn't be expected to provide many useful fantasy numbers while he sees steady action.

Lagares went 1-for-3 with a solo home run Sunday against the Brewers.
EDGE Analysis
Lagares uncorked his second home run of the season in the seventh inning to cut the deficit to one, but Milwaukee would hold on for the victory. Although it was nice to see the 30-year-old flash some power at the dish, he's struggled over 29 games this season, batting .213 with four extra-base hits, six RBI and two stolen bases.

Lagares is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Phillies.
EDGE Analysis
Brandon Nimmo's (neck) absence for the series finale opens up a spot in the outfield, but it's Keon Broxton who will get the nod in Nimmo's stead rather than Lagares. The 2014 Gold Glove winner is regarded as an elite defender in center field, but Broxton compares favorably to Lagares in that respect and offers more upside offensively.

Lagares went 1-for-3 with a solo home run, his first blast of the year, and a second run scored in Monday's 7-3 win over the Marlins.
EDGE Analysis
He was also hit by a pitch and committed a throwing error in center field, but it was overall a good response from Lagares after Keon Broxton's big game Sunday. The two will continue to battle for playing time in center field, but both are likely to get squeezed once either Todd Frazier (oblique) or Jed Lowrie (knee) gets healthy. That would push Jeff McNeil primarily to left field rather than seeing time at third base, and Brandon Nimmo from left to center.

Lagares will start Thursday's season opener against the Nationals, Anthony DiComo of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Lagares struggled this spring, hitting just .196/.211/.286 with a homer and two steals in 18 games, but injuries paved the way for him to break camp with the Mets. The veteran outfielder appears on track to occupy the strong side of a platoon in center field to open the season, though he'll return to a reserve role (or head to the minors) once either Jed Lowrie (knee) or Todd Frazier (oblique) returns from the IL and pushes Jeff McNeil back to the outfield.
