Outman hasn't pitched in the majors since 2014 and pitched for independent league New Britain at one point in 2016, so this is more of an organizational depth signing for the Nationals.

Indians sent LHP Josh Outman outright to Triple-A Columbus. The Indians designated Outman for assignment on June 18 and, somewhat surprisingly, he passed through waivers. He'll serve as organizational depth for the Indians.
