Fields was placed on the paternity list Tuesday, Ken Gurnick of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Fields will be away from the Dodgers for the next few days as he attends the birth of his child. In the meantime, Zach Neal was promoted from Triple-A Oklahoma City and should provide an extra bullpen arm until Fields is back, which should be over the weekend.

Fields gave up one hit and struck out two over a scoreless inning while picking up his first hold of the season in Monday's extra-inning loss to Arizona.
EDGE Analysis
The reason this game went 15 innings was due to Kenley Jansen's three-run implosion in the ninth. The Dodgers' normally-dominant closer has begun this year with lowered velocity and uncharacteristically poor outings. While this could just be a bad blip on the radar, Fields and fellow setup man Pedro Baez are worth handcuffing Jansen with in the even the closer's issues continue.

Manager Dave Roberts is slow-playing Fields (arm) this spring, J.P. Hoornstra of the Los Angeles Daily News reports.
EDGE Analysis
Roberts reported Fields is healthy after battling arm soreness early in camp. That said, the Dodgers are in no rush to get Fields into a spring game, as he doesn't require as much time as other pitchers to get up to speed given he's a one-inning reliever. While he doesn't have a specific date for his debut set, it sounds like it will come sooner rather than later. Either way, barring any setbacks throughout the remainder of camp, Fields should be healthy for the start of the season; he's expected to serve as one of the Dodgers' top setup options in front of Jansen.

Fields has been dealing with minor arm discomfort since early in training camp and has yet to appear in a Cactus League game this spring, Ken Gurnick of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
There is no specific recovery timetable available for Fields, however the injury appears minor and could just be the Dodgers exhibiting caution. Hopefully the team will have additional updates regarding the 32-year-old in the near future, but few specifics on the arm discomfort are presently available

Fields agreed to a one-year, $2.2 million deal with the Dodgers on Friday, avoiding arbitration, Robert Murray of FanRagSports.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
He receives a raise over the $1.05 million he made in his first year of arbitration. The 32-year-old righty logged a 2.84 ERA, 0.96 WHIP and 60 strikeouts in 57 innings last season, and should once again serve as one of the Dodgers' top setup options in front of closer Kenley Jansen.

Fields (back) was activated from the disabled list ahead of Monday's game against the Diamondbacks.
EDGE Analysis
As expected, Fields is set to rejoin the Dodgers after a minimal 10-day stay on the shelf. Now that he's back with the big club, expect Fields to return to his role as one of the top setup men to closer Kenley Jansen. He owns a 2.68 ERA and 49:14 K:BB through 47 innings out of the big-league bullpen this season.

The Dodgers placed Fields on the 10-day disabled list Sunday with a back strain, Bill Shaikin of the Los Angeles Times reports.
EDGE Analysis
Fields' injury is considered minor, with manager Dave Roberts telling J.P. Hoornstra of the Los Angeles Daily News that he expects the reliever to come off the DL when first eligible Sept. 3. Since returning from Triple-A Oklahoma City in early July, Fields has emerged as one of the top setup men to closer Kenley Jansen, registering a 2.25 ERA and nine holds over his last 20 appearances.

Fields tossed two scoreless innings while striking out one and converting his eighth hold in Wednesday's victory over Arizona.
EDGE Analysis
The 31-year-old continues to roll since returning to the majors at the beginning of July, posting a 1.88 ERA and 8.2 K/9 in 13 appearances. He has also tallied two wins and five of his eight holds during that stretch, putting him back in the conversation in leagues that value holds. While the numbers that count look nice on paper, we would be doing a disservice by not pointing out Field's 4.17 FIP, which is well over a run higher than his current 2.61 ERA, hinting at a likely regression at some point down the stretch.

Fields fired a perfect inning while striking out two in Sunday's 3-2 win over the Marlins.
EDGE Analysis
A rough stretch in June led to a demotion to the minors for the veteran reliever, but he has looked better since rejoining the bigs, giving up just one run while striking out seven over 5.2 innings. The Dodgers have plenty of right-handed options in the bullpen and they generally are not involved in tight games, which limits Fields' fantasy value in holds leagues.
