Joaquin Arias (hamstring) is not in the Giants' lineup for Thursday's series finale with the Reds. Arias entered Wednesday's game as a pinch-hitter and stuck around for a few innings. It was his first taste of action since June 24 and his hamstring apparently didn't respond very well. Consider him day-to-day for now.

Joaquin Arias (hamstring) entered Wednesday night's game against the Reds as a pinch-hitter. Arias hit for Brandon Crawford in the top of the eighth inning and then stayed in at shortstop, later doubling in the top of the 11th. The infielder hadn't appeared in a game since June 24 due to a left hamstring strain.

Joaquin Arias (hamstring) is available off the bench Friday. Arias hasn't played since Monday due to a left hamstring strain. The Giants were considering a stint on the disabled list if his symptoms didn't improve, but he's feeling much better.

Giants manager Bruce Bochy said that Joaquin Arias (hamstring) could be placed on the disabled list if he's not feeling well enough to play by Friday. Bochy sounded confident Tuesday that Arias would be ready this weekend, but he was more guarded Wednesday. Arias is feeling better, but he'll need to continue to improve over the next couple days.

Joaquin Arias has been diagnosed with a left hamstring strain. Arias injured himself while on the basepaths Monday. The good news is that Brandon Crawford appears to be over his sprained fingers. The Giants will need to call up another infielder, though, if Arias needs DL time.

Joaquin Arias left Monday's game against the Dodgers with an apparent leg injury. Arias appeared to injure himself while scoring from first base on an Andres Torres double in the second inning. The Giants should update his status shortly. Brandon Crawford, who had been given the night off, replaced Arias at shortstop.

Joaquin Arias went 2-for-4 with a run scored in the Giants' loss to the Pirates on Tuesday. Arias is serving as the Giants' primary third baseman for the next few weeks while Pablo Sandoval recovers from a left foot strain and had a nice game Tuesday night at PNC Park. But he still owns a wretched .238/.269/.238 slash line and can be avoided in all fantasy formats. Nick Noonan will also get starts at the hot corner.

Joaquin Arias has been one of baseball's worst hitters, slashing .205/.262/.205 through 43 plate appearances. The utility infielder, making $925,000 this season, batted .270/.304/.389 with a .693 OPS in 344 plate appearances last season. He can be ignored in NL-only formats.
