Jason Donald (wrist) played catch prior to Tuesday's game. Donald is dealing with a right wrist contusion that is the result of a hit by pitch earlier this month. He's currently only available for pinch-running or emergency fielding duty.

According to MLB.com's Jordan Bastian, the Jason Donald outfield experiment could influence the way the Indians align their Opening Day bench. Donald started in centerfield for the second game in a row on Friday, and is getting a hard look as a backup outfielder. "We need to see more," manager Manny Acta said. "It gives us more flexibility to get creative at the end if we have to. I think he's going to play more centerfield going forward." With Donald excelling as an outfielder, Aaron Cunningham, Ryan Spilborghs and Felix Pie could all become expendable.

Indians manager Manny Acta expects Jason Donald to retain his utility role with the team this season. "Donald has a leg up because of the job he did last year," Acta said. "We're going to throw him in the outfield and give him more games at third base this spring. He's got a leg up, plain and simple."
