Yankees sent LHP Josh Spence outright to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre. Spence was designated for assignment last week and will remain with the Yankees after clearing waivers. He posted an underwhelming 4.20 ERA in 31 appearances at the Triple-A level this past season but pitched well for San Diego in 2011.
