Yankees manager Joe Girardi is hoping to have Gardner (wrist) back in the lineup Friday, Mark Feinsand of the New York Daily News reports. Although he didn't say so explicitly, Girardi effectively ruled Gardner out for Wednesday's series finale against Baltimore. The skipper said Gardner is still sore and probably won't be available to pinch-hit Tuesday, though he suggested Gardner may be able to pinch run or play defense.
