Weaver (hip) threw a simulated game Saturday, Jeff Fletcher of the Orange County Register reports. Weaver has progressed from bullpen sessions to sim games, suggesting he could be ready to rejoin the rotation immediately after the All-Star break. With Andrew Heaney thriving thus far, the Angels have a tough to decision to make when looking at who Weaver will replace. The team may end up demoting Matt Shoemaker from the rotation, even though he was fantastic as a rookie last year. The Angels might also consider trading one of their starters for a batter, though Weaver and his 10/5 veto rights probably wouldn't be part of that discussion.
