Vargas labored through six innings Friday night, allowing four earned runs on 10 hits while striking out five in a loss to the Indians. Vargas was knocked around for the second straight outing Friday night, as the veteran hurler has now given up 21 hits over his last 12 innings. Despite an abundance of base runners, the crafty southpaw has somewhat limited the damage, allowing just seven runs (six earned) over the same span. Overall, Vargas has put up an impressive campaign for the first place Royals and will be back on the bump Wednesday versus the Rangers.
