Travis Sawchik of the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review was told by Josh Johnson's agent that the Pirates are one of the finalists to sign his client. Johnson's agent said he's considering three or four teams. On a related note, we heard Monday that he would prefer to sign with the Giants and Padres. All of them would offer promising environments for a rebound. Coming off an injury-plagued season, Johnson is looking for a one-year deal to reestablish his value and test the market again next winter.
