Tim Byrdak (shoulder) will begin a rehab assignment with the Gulf Coast League Mets on Friday. Byrdak has appeared in extended spring games, but this will be his first official game experience since he underwent shoulder surgery last September. The Mets are hoping he can join their bullpen around the All-Star break.
