New York has very little second base depth in the organization, having dealt Dilson Herrera to the Reds in the Jay Bruce, as T.J. Rivera or Gavin Cecchini, if he transitioned to the keystone position, would likely be next in line. Walker is coming off a career-year and has expressed his desire to remain in New York, while the Mets will likely take some of the $17.2 million for this year and move it into the future years on the deal.
