Texas Rangers pitcher Derek Holland will be activated from the disabled list to start Wednesday against the Seattle Mariners after recovering from a shoulder injury, according to the team's official website. Holland, who has not pitched since April 10 when he left his start after just one inning, has thrown multiple rehab starts with Triple-A Round Rock and expressed that he was ready to return after Saturday's outing. “I’m ready,” Holland said after striking out eight in five innings. “It’s their [management's] decision, but I know I’m ready.” The 28-year-old had a career year in 2013 when he posted a 3.42 ERA with 189 strikeouts in 213 innings, but he has been limited to just six starts in the last two seasons because of knee and shoulder problems. Holland is expected to slot into the front end of the rotation and will provide a boost as the team battles for a playoff spot.
