Stauffer faltered Sunday at St. Louis, surrendering two runs on three hits and one walk to go with two strikeouts in two frames. In the fifth inning, Stauffer relieved starter Odrisamer Despaigne, setting down the side following a leadoff single. However, Stauffer wasn't as crisp in the sixth, when the Cardinals placed runners at second and third. With two outs, he gave up a two-run double to Matt Carpenter, bumping up the right-hander's ERA to 3.86 on the season. Expect Stauffer to continue pitching in low-leverage situations, especially if his walk rate, currently sitting at 4.04 BB/9, doesn't turn around.
