Santiago (13-10) pitched 6.1 shutout innings, giving up only three hits and three walks in Saturday's win over the White Sox.
EDGE Analysis
Santiago was particularly effective against this former team of his, going 4-0 with a 1.03 ERA in four starts against the White Sox this season. Although he can't be blamed for a lack of wins playing for the Angels and Twins this year, he did set personal lows in ERA (4.87), K/9 (7.07) and second-lowest WHIP (1.38). To provide more value next year, he'll need to return to at least posting a higher strikeout rate -- like he did his first two years in the league -- if he doesn't significantly improve in ERA, WHIP or wins.
