Santiago (12-9) pitched 5.1 innings, allowing six runs, seven hits and two walks while striking out five Tigers in Tuesday's loss.
EDGE Analysis
Santiago looked locked in early Tuesday, striking out five of the first eight batters he faced, including a stretch of four in a row. However, the left-hander began to come unglued late in the third inning, before being completely thrashed in a four-run sixth. After a rough stretch in August, Santiago was performing much better over his last four games -- a span that included three quality outings and a 1.80 ERA over 25 innings. That run came to a screeching halt while the Tigers handed him his first loss in five starts. Santiago will look to rebound when he toes the rubber Sunday versus Seattle.
