Sands (wrist) signed a minor league contract with the Indians, which includes an invite to spring training. Sands only has 22 plate appearances in the major leagues since 2012, and does not figure to be more than a source of organizational outfield depth. He is also recovering from wrist surgery, which is another factor working against Sands' chances of making the roster out of spring training.
