Sandoval (shoulder) said the results of his first MRI were "pretty bad," and he is on tap for a second opinion from Dr. James Andrews in the near future, WEEI.com's Rob Bradford reports.
EDGE Analysis
Obviously with him in line to get a second opinion, things aren't looking good, and his comments Friday confirm that. His left shoulder injury may require surgery, and amid that possibility he also stressed to reporters that a report that he wanted to be traded was untrue, not that he'll be in any shape to take the field anytime soon. Travis Shaw's hold on the third base job appears to be getting stronger by the day, and Sandoval should be considered out indefinitely.
