Ross (shoulder, ankle) threw from 180 feet Tuesday and could begin throwing off a mound within the week, AJ Cassavell of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Tuesday marked a big step in the right direction for Ross as he told reporters that not only was his foot feeling the best it has since suffering a sprained ankle, but also that his shoulder was feeling good. Provided that he's not overly sore from Tuesday's workout, the Padres can begin mapping out a throwing program for him within the next week. Ross would still likely need a lengthy rehab assignment to build up his pitch count once he gets cleared for game action.
