Rodriguez hit his first home run of the season, going 1-for-3 with a walk and a strikeout in Thursday's loss to the Blue Jays. There was some speculation in spring training as to Rodriguez's role with the team, but thus far he's gotten the start all three games as the club's designated hitter. He was also bumped up to second in the lineup Thursday, indicating that he could be winning back some of the trust in manager Joe Girardi. While Garrett Jones figured to be a possible platoon option with A-Rod at DH, the team seems fully committed at this point to giving the 39-year-old the regular starting opportunities.
