Reed's contract was purchased from Triple-A Toledo on Thursday, James Schmehl of MLive.com reports. Reed has spent most of this season under a negative spotlight due to a pair of sexual assault charges stemming from a Mar. 30 incident, but a judge ended up dismissing the case last week. He'll rejoin the Tigers after providing a 4.24 ERA and 1.34 WHIP over 23.1 innings at Toledo.
