Ramirez could see a reduced workload with the return of Brad Boxberger from the disabled list, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.
EDGE Analysis
The 26-year-old reliever has been the bullpen's iron man, throwing 38 innings overall during the first two months of the season, with 32.1 of those coming in 19 relief appearances. However, the presence of another arm in the relief corps is certain to have a positive trickle-down effect on his usage. While he relishes being called upon, Ramirez has recently emphasized how he wants to be more prudent with how frequently he takes the hill. "I want the most appearances I can get," Ramirez said. "Less innings means less pitches, less pitches means I can be fresh and even go three days, back-to-back-to-back."
