Porcello won his first start of the season, allowing four runs on seven hits (two homers) and a walk while striking out seven in six innings against Toronto on Saturday.
EDGE Analysis
The first three innings brought back memories of Porcello's disappointing 2015 season when he surrendered 25 long balls in 172 innings (1.3 per nine innings). The right-hander gave up first-inning runs -- a two-run homer by Jose Bautista -- then, after being given the lead in the third, gave it up on another two-run shot by Bautista the next half inning. He settled in after that, shutting down the high-powered Blue Jays offense over the final three innings.
