Phillips (toe) is out of the lineup Thursday against the Giants. Phillips remains day-to-day after leaving Tuesday's game with a left big toe issue. The club hasn't provided much of an update on his status to this point, so it's tough to tell how long Phillips will remain out of the lineup. Skip Schumaker will start at second base Thursday, batting eighth for the Reds.
