Phillies released RHP Juan Cruz. The Phillies signed Cruz to a minor league deal in January, but he reportedly asked out of the contract after the club recently added Chad Durbin. The 34-year-old right-hander had a 2.78 ERA and 33/19 K/BB ratio over 35 2/3 innings last season with the Pirates and should be able to latch on elsewhere.
