Pence (wrist) returned to the lineup against the Mets on Tuesday, batting cleanup and going 1-for-4 with a pair of RBI. Pence's rehabilitation program went 0-to-100. News broke that he would be in the starting lineup just two days after reports were saying he would be out until after the All-Star break, skipping a rehab stint entirely. The Giants' seven-game losing streak may have had something to do with the acceleration of their star outfielder's comeback. In addition to the pair of RBI, Pence showed off his defensive prowess by making a sliding catch in foul territory and throwing out Curtis Granderson at home. He will resume his role as the Giants' everyday right fielder while batting in the heart of their lineup.
