Paredes has been taking work at first base according to Buck Showalter, Brittany Ghiroli of MLB.com reports. Paredes has been red-hot in his eight major league games this season, slashing .429/.444/.857 with three homers, four doubles, a triple, and nine RBI so the club is likely just looking for ways to keep his bat in the lineup. He'll get the start as the team's designated hitter and bat second in Monday's contest against the White Sox.
