Nova (elbow) will be activated from the DL to start Wednesday's game against the Phillies, ESPN reports. Nova will make his first start in more than a calendar year after undergoing Tommy John surgery in April of 2014. To date, Nova has spent the season rehabbing in extended spring training games, and he made three minor league rehab starts, most recently at Triple-A Scranton-Wilkes-Barre on Friday. He struggled in that outing, allowing five earned runs on seven hits, but Nova emerged without discomfort, so he expects to take the hill Wednesday without issue. Manager Joe Girardi said the Yankees will go with a six-man rotation for the time being before a decision is made to drop one starter to make room for Nova.
