EDGE Analysis
The default theme for most of Miller's 11-game losing streak had been his tough luck, with the Braves providing him with some of the worst run support of any starter in 2015. Saturday's performance may have simply been Miller finally collapsing after this abysmal stretch, with the seven earned runs surrendered representing the most he had given up in an outing all season. His solid Aug. 30 performance against the Marlins nonwithstanding, Miller had begun to show some cracks in his two appearances prior, having given up nine runs (seven earned) in outings against the Cubs and Rockies. Miller's solid 151:61 HR:BB ratio and 0.56 HR/9 rate continue to make him a formidable candidate for solid performances each time he takes the hill, but lack of offensive support will continue to have a crippling effect on his chances for victories.
