Meek elected free agency in lieu of accepting his outright assignment to Triple-A Norfolk, Eduardo Encina of the Baltimore Sun reports. Meek was outrighted last week after pitching 23.1 innings for the Orioles in 2014. He made 23 total appearances, posting a 5.79 ERA while allowing 15 earned runs and 11 walks. In 39 Triple-A appearances, his ERA was much friendlier, hovering just under 2.00 (1.94) in 41.2 innings. The 31-year-old will look to earn a Spring Training invite from another club this offseason.
