Matt Tolbert has elected free agency. Tolbert was outrighted to Triple-A Rochester last week but refused the assignment and will seek employment elsewhere. The 29-year-old sported just .198/.252/.266 batting line for the Twins this season but should be able to catch on somewhere on a minor league deal and compete for a utility job.
