Marquis was designated for assignment by the Reds on Friday. Marquis was mercifully removed from the Reds' rotation a couple weeks ago, starting only nine games in his brief tenure. He did not make any relief appearances after being moved to the bullpen. His days in the organization appear to be over, though it's possible he could accept an assignment to serve as depth in Triple-A.
